"Where you tend a rose...

a thistle cannot grow." Frances Hodgson Burnett

I painted this last week as part of the awesome online class by Misty Mawn. I have taken 3 classes from her now, and in each one, I am continually amazed at her talent and beautiful spirit.

I have been thinking so much this last while about how my thought life affects my outward life. The quote in this painting is a reminder to me that when you plant and nurture positive beautiful thoughts, there is no room for negative ugly ones.
This is a shot of the whole thing. I really need to learn how to take better pictures of my work. It was just pure creative bliss making this by the end...and total torture when it was going through its UGLY DUCKLING stage! Persevere through the stretching, uncomfortable spots...and you may come out the other side with something you love.

May you all have a week filled with positive wondrous thoughts of beauty, about yourselves, your art, and your life! xo

  1. She is so beautiful - I love all the images of the flowers, butterflies and bird. I'm also taking Misty's class but haven't had time to play and create the way I would like... Keep it up - your work is gorgeous!
